    • Charles and his family lived in Lexington, Massachusetts. In 1853 he was an assessor in Lexington and in 1854 he served as a Representative to the General Court. He was a member of the first board of trustees of the Lexington Savings Bank.

      He married the daughter of James and Sarah (Badger) Sumner of Lexington, Massachusetts.
