  • Notes
    • On 16 Nov 1952, Fannie was accidently shot in the abdomen with a 30-30 rifle. She was sitting on a log in Kalkaska County when LeRoy Rice, 65 of Muskegon said he mistook her for a porcupine because of fur on her coat. (Her daughter, Virginia Fuller King said she did not have any fur on her coat.) She was taken to Grayling Hospital in serious condition and later moved to Henry Ford (or Harper Hospital) in Detroit. LeRoy Rice was fined $600 and costs for a "hunting error".
