Notes |
- NAME: James A Munro Jr. says in his letter of 24 Jan 1997, that Jane Munro was married to Peter Thompson and was known as "Aunt Jennie Pete" so that she would not be confused with Aunt Jennie, the wife of Charles Munro.
BIOGRAPHY: Margaret Jane Bryce had this to say about Jennie Munro: Jeannie, I remember through my mother's great affection for her and also for the pretty frocks she would send for me. I was just under 4 years old when she died, but I do remember the grief when she died and the frocks. Jane's brother, George became friendly with Peter Thompson and George thld Peter that he had a sister in Scotland who could make him a good wife. Jane followed her brothers and married Peter Thompson. By all accounts this was a happy marriage. Jane returned to Scotland twice: first when Ina Donaldson was born (21 September 1904) and again, possibly in 1918 at the end of World War I. From some notes provided by Jamesina Donaldson (of Mosstodloch, Moray) in a letter dated 3 December, 1997 to Margaret Price.
