  Esther lived at 4127 Bowman Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana. She worked for many years in the Marion County Treasurer's office, retiring in 1965. She was active in civic affairs and served as precinct committee member. Voting in her precinct was held in her garage. She was very interested in genealogy and collected data on over 2000 descendants of her ancestor, Robert Monroe. She was also interested in rabbits and often went to rabbit breeders conventions.
