Notes |
- Peter's mother died before he was a year old. He was raised by his maternal grandparents.
Peter was farmer until the Civil War. While visiting his brother Woodson in Tennessee, Maria gave birth to William Albert.
Peter was hospitalized during the war and captured. After returning home he became an alcoholic, the first documented alcoholic. Peter, Maria and Mary Ida are buried in the same grave at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church in Rowan County. This suggests that they died during the same few days of a flu epidemic.
