217 "Pa" as he was called, was a quiet gentleman. He was self educated as he did not finish high school. He was said to have read a lot and learned much from the National Geographic. He loved children and his favorite sport was baseball.

Orrin ran a grocery store in Cheyenne on Bent Street. He sold the store and wnt to work as a civil servant at F. E. Warren Air Force Base. Orrin died of a heart attack after moving several bags of concrete at work. It was told by his son that several blacks were told to move the bags but refused so Orrin did it by himself.

Orrin served during World War I and was exposed to mustard gas. He was bald and grew his hair long on one side and combed it over.

239 "Sadie", as she was known to her family, was Laura and Walter's second child, and was also born at home in Stillwater, Minnesota. She just a year old when baptized at St. Paul's Church at Hudson, Wisconsin. She would have been only about four years old when her parents moved the family to North Dakota to homestead.

1897 March 21: Sarah Nettie De St. Croix, born March 10th 1896, baptized in St. Paul's Church, Hudson. Parents: Walter De St. Croix, Laura De St. Croix. Witnesses: Walter De St. Croix, Laura De St. Croix, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe. By Wm M. Vellie

Sadie was only 15 years old when she wed Charles Larson, a 33 year old North Dakota farmer in 1911. During nearly 50 years of marriage they raised eight children and lived and farmed at Superior, WI, Kenmare, ND and Minot ND. Charles died in 1960 at age 82, and Sadie survived as a busy widow for another 19 years before her death at age 83.
